A system that chooses profits over the best interest of their participants is a fundamentally broken system. A platform that hides the transactions of the network is a breeding ground for corruption and exploitation of their users. A rideshare platform that drives down costs at the expense of quality assurance, customer experience, and overall consumer happiness is just simply not sustainable.
The founders of Chasyr envision a world in which (1) drivers are not exploited, riders aren’t price-gouged, (2) the impact of transportation on the environment is lightened, (3) Individuals wishing to engage in commerce are not subject to the mercy of the fiat-based economies of the world.
1. The Exploitation of Participants for Profit Motives:
Legacy rideshare companies may have not set out to subjugate a class of laborers for a corporate board and their shareholders, but they certainly are doing it now. There used to be a direct correlation between what a passenger paid and what the driver earned.
As it currently stands, drivers are paid a fixed booking fee plus a per mile and per minute dollar amount. The passenger used to pay exactly 20-25% more than that amount, depending on the date of sign-up and company. Now, the passenger pays whatever the company can get them to pay based on a complex algorithm of user data. The driver sees none of the additional earnings the company was able to squeeze out of the rider. Then the rider tips less because they feel like their money didn’t go far enough.
Chasyr will be partially owned by drivers and riders and promises never to put profit-motives ahead of driver and/or rider concerns. Our pricing models contain no surge pricing, no hidden fees, and no autonomous vehicle research & development. We promise full transparency on the blockchain.
2. Environmental Impact:
Chasyr pledges to go beyond “carbon-neutral.” The true environmental impact of transportation is in the inefficiencies of both city-planning and day-planning. Cities are planned and designed around car-ownership. The past few years have seen great strides in trying to limit this, but development remains at the mercy of profiteering private interest groups, and it is not sustainable.
Chasyr hopes to fill some of the inefficiency gaps. Our peer-to-peer network focuses on planning ahead and will not be a wasteful network where drivers waste hours driving around chasing pings. The tradeoff is instant gratification. Our users, both drivers and riders, understand that environmental sustainability is worth the convenience cost. In exchange for giving up the expectation of an instant ride, the network can plan more efficiently to keep down driver-expenses, ride costs, and most importantly, minimize our carbon footprint.
3. Take a ride on the blockchain:
No individual wishing to hail a ride, electronically or manually, should be forced to pay in fiat currency. Chasyr’s vision is to bring the rideshare industry safely and responsibly into the blockchain era. Though riders will still have the option to pay via fiat, they shouldn’t be forced to pay only in fiat. Chasyr will start by allowing riders to pay with ETH or MPH tokens, and hopes to eventually accept most of the top cryptocurrencies.
To achieve these three missions, Chasyr is building a hybrid rideshare company that relies on both the traditional TNC model and an SaaS model.
In a few major markets, Chasyr will operate a company-owned TNC, while providing a decentralized software platform available in markets for drivers to operate their own businesses in the fragmented regulatory landscape.
One of the primary complaints we hear from drivers is that they have the inability to grow a clientele of repeat business. We envision a landscape in which the individuals engaging in commerce have ownership over their business.
Chasyr drivers will have a greater responsibility for the quality of their vehicle, service, and relationship with their riders to build their customer-base under the Chasyr brand umbrella.
Chasyr’s peer-to-peer network incentivizes drivers and riders to become stewards and advocates for the best possible transportation platform. For example, drivers will try to encourage repeat business and riders will try to negotiate a regular driver with which to lock in the cost of a daily commute.
Chasyr hopes to create trust and happiness with its driver-community and promises to focus on retention over rapid growth. Not only will we be the first blockchain-powered rideshare startup to market, we will be the only major rideshare company owned by its users.
CHASYR APP & MODELS
The Chasyr mobile app and will be built with React Native, the mobile application framework created by Facebook for speed and ease of development, the Embark framework, and IPFS. The first design prototype of the mobile app can be seen here . The Chasyr network will be accessible to all smartphones, but will have native apps for IOS and Android.
SaaS Mode - Chasyr’s Software As A Service mode is more personalized network of connections. Access to this mode will require users to hold Chasyr Tokens (MPH). All transactions within this mode will require Chasyr Tokens. Access to SaaS is limited to MPH holders but will be accessible anywhere in the world in a decentralized way. SaaS mode will be ran fully on the Ethereum blockchain. To the blockchain familiar this will be the Chasyr dApp.
TNC Mode - The TNC model (Uber/Lyft model) of Chasyr will launch in cities where Chasyr Inc. can establish a Transportation Network Company. It will be used in a centralized way so that umbrella insurance, licenses, background checks, etc can be provided. This version of Chasyr will onboard and maintain quality assurance over its driver-force, taking a booking finder’s-fee of 5% from its drivers. Riders will be able to pay with credit/debit cards or ETH and will receive a discount for paying for their ride with MPH. Specific features of this model will be rolled out market by market at a later date.
Chasyr believes the value of a token specifically created for a startup to use should reflect the value that people see in the startup itself. We have been fortunate enough to self-finance this far, and will not be conducting a traditional Initial Coin Offering (ICO). We want to build something sustainable. We plan to do so without the hype of pomp and circumstance that ensues from an ICO. We’ve seen from experience how funds are maliciously raised and spent trying to achieve over-promises. There is no target price for trading of MPH and make no guarantee on appreciation or depreciation of the token. MPH will always be available to the public to be used within the Chasyr platform.
The Chasyr Token: MPH was created on April 21st 2019 with a total supply of 100.000.000 Chasyr Tokens ( MPH ) No more MPH tokens can or will be created. MPH tokens are slowly being added to decentralized exchanges to allow early adopters an early opportunity to start holding the token in anticipation of the release of our applications.
Chasyr Tokens (MPH) will be used for primary and secondary functions within all Chasyr platforms. Some of these functions include:
1. Ride payment: riders can use MPH to pay for rides directly.
2. Tipping: All tipping on the Chasyr rideshare network is in MPH tokens.
3. Bonuses: Sometimes drivers need to be incentivized to drive at certain times and in certain areas of high demand. All bonuses on the Chasyr rideshare network will be offered in MPH tokens.
4. Bounties: MPH tokens will be issued from Chasyr’s treasury for piecemeal work as necessary, such as additional app feature development.
5. Milestones: For achieving driver and/or rider milestones, such as “complete X number of rides” or “[earn a] tip X number of times,” Chasyr’s treasury will airdrop milestone bonuses (amount tbd) to the high-achiever.
